Omnifocus Keeps Opening Multiple Windows

How do I get OF to stop opening a new window every time I click on an item. I just want one window open for the app and every couple days I check and it has opened multiple views. Very irritating...

Sounds like you are double-clicking on actions (which opens a new window focused on that action's project).

I had this issue a few versions (1.5?) ago, and contacted the Omni folks/ sent them versions of my files, etc. to see if I could get it fixed. They were very helpful and diligent, but we never did get it figured out. Once I upgraded versions, the problem seemed to go away. I think I had to update my files/ restore from a backup, but whatever stray comma or code that was making OmniFocus windows happy was fixed, and the problem went away. Are you using the latest version?

yep, I'm up to date. I t may be that I'm double-clicking, but even so that seems like a dropped ball in usability. A double-click should focus, but I don't see the value in creating a new window automatically...maybe I'm missing something.

It's of great value to me! I use it all the time to make view changes in a new window without losing the view settings in the original window.

There's some precedence for this behavior as well: iTunes, Address Book, Mail (in the message list), and even in Finder with command-double click.

I suppose I'd be okay with a command-double click to open a new window in OmniFocus instead of just double click. But I've never had a problem with the current behavior either.
