clip or append to project note field

Does anyone know a way to clip information to the project note field? I know you can do this for an individual action, but I'm looking to put the information on the top level note for the project.

For example, someone just sent me an email with a few websites and some information about an organization. It isn't actionable, but it is good background information that I can reference.

Or course, I can put in yojimbo or devonthink, but then I need to link it to project notefield anyways so I remember that it is there.

It would be great if you could append information the project note field. Is this possible or is this a feature request?

Thanks,
Steve

You can select text, then drag it and drop it on the task or project in OF. (Make sure you're not right over the project/task name when you drop it or else it will be pasted there. Look for the little "alias arrow" by your cursor.)
Would that accomplish what you're thinking of?

That is a good feature, but unless I already have the project open in OmniFocus it doesn't work. Ideally, I would like to copy text, open up a quick entry window, navigate to the project, and then have the choice of creating a next action or appending the text into the project note field.

Quick Entry may not be able to pop up existing projects, but the script in this thread can

That might help get you closer.

Hi Craig,
I think that will get me a lot closer. . . I have so many projects buried it can be challenging to find the right one to add support material. I'll try to install it.

OT, are you still using quicksilver? I loved it for years, but I am thinking about buying launchbar because QS has gotten a bit less reliable for me.

I need to spend more time following your thread, but it looks like you would be able to jump to a project via QS or launchbar.

Steve,

I'm using a version of that script with LaunchBar on a regular basis. It works great. I was a Quicksilver power user for years, but switched to LaunchBar 15 months ago and haven't looked back. It's marginally less powerful (at least in version 4) but infinitely less crashy.

Cheers,

Curt
