Gantt/Task/Resource/Day Multiplier Error

Dear All

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the following or could offer some insight as to how I might be able to resolve this.

I've defined resource types in the context of resource groups in the inspector and attached an hourly rate to each.

I've set up a number of tasks and allocated hours to them using the visual Gantt to drag them to the number of days as all tasks are whole days. To take an example, task 1 has effort of 3d and visually the Gantt shows 3 days start to finish.

I've then gone to the working time and changed them to reflect my company working hours: 09:30 - 12:30 and 13:30 - 18:00. Those working hours multiplied by the rate set in the resources inspector should equal our charge out day rate. All good so far.

I was then planning on going back to the tasks and assigning resources to then get the total cost for each resource on the project but noticed that the Gantt chart was visually 75% into day 4 or showing 3.75 days according to the mouseover and only since I changed the working day hours. The effort field was still showing 3d however.

Checking the inspector, it showed 3d as well and the correct start and end time. When I dragged the Gantt, I noticed that a day is being set to 8.25 hours. When assigning resource to a task, costs now equate to a day of 8.25 and I don't know how this was triggered. I suspect it's a bug but I'm a fairly new user and some of the approaches are different to MS Project so thought it worth asking.

With your working hours, your company's normal work day is 7.5 hours a day. You will probably need to change the effort conversion factors in the "Project : Formatting" inspector to reflect this because the default setting is 8 hours.
