disable automatic spellcheck globally?
 

Is there a way to disable "Check Spelling as you Type" on something other than a document-by-document basis? I would love to do this globally in OS X, but there doesn't seem to be a way. At least if I could do it globally in OOP that would be really helpful.

You can disable it by default in OO. You need to modify the default template. OmniOutliner menu -> Preferences -> Edit New Document Template. The template will open, then turn off the spell checking and save it. Now all documents made from that template will have spell checking turn off.
