Keyboard shortcut for zooming
 

I guess I have just missed something: Up to OG4 we had the CMD-scroll up/down shortcut for zooming in and out of the canvas. This does not work for OG, afaik. So for zooming in, I press [z] and drag.
What is the best way to zoom out? Or is there a shortcut like in OG4?

Command-scroll works for me in OG5 with a might mouse; have you changed any OS level mouse settings / 3rd party software?

You can re-map shortcuts for "Zoom In" and "Zoom Out".

System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Application Shortcuts. Remember that case sensitivity matters and you can create a shortcut for anything you can find in a menu.

Z works too!

for me...

z + left click (or drag) -> zoom in
z + opt + left click -> zoom out

... are the preferred options re: keyboard/mouse combinations. :)
