Voice recording on the iPod Touch
Will it work with iPod touch?
Certainly! OmniFocus works the same way on iPod touch as it does on iPhone, except for the things that are impossible: taking a photo, recording audio,
Well it is possible to record audio on the iPod Touch with the new Apple headphones with microphone, which I have.

So is voice recording coming to the touch in Omnifocus? It doesn't seem to be available at them moment unless I am not looking in the right place.

I too have the iPod touch & microphone. I would love to see the option of voice notes. In fact that's one of the main reasons I switched to OF from toodledo.

And how do you record audio on the Mac desktop version - I assume that is possible using the built in mic on a laptop?

Sorry, OmniFocus on the desktop doesn't have the ability to record audio. I have no idea if it can play an iPhone recording that has been attached to an action.

To make an official feature request, use Help->Send Feedback in the desktop version, or email omnifocus@omnigroup.com.

Recordings from OF iPhone will play fine in OF for Mac.

Also, as mentioned OF Mac cannot currently record voice recordings, and I believe that would be a nice enhancement. There is a work-around, that for many people (self included) is probably more trouble than the value added. You can attach a voice recording to a task note as an embedded file and it will sync to OF iPhone. My experience is that the recording must be saved as an Apple CAF file, IMA 4.1 format, 22.050 kHz sample rate, and recorded in mono. I use WireTap Studio to record the voice notes, but there probably are other solutions available also.
