MultiMarkdown export broken

There’s been quite a few OmniOutliner updates, recently. So I don’t know for sure which one did it, but the MultiMarkdown export plug-in from Fletcher Penney doesn’t work anymore — it doesn’t even appear in the list of exporters. I tried different positions inside of the “Application Support/The Omni Group/OmniOutliner” folder, with no success. This is unfortunate, as I love the OmniOutliner → MMD workflow. So there arise a few questions:

Is there a simple way to make it work again?
If not, can we count on OmniOutliner 4 being able to export in MultiMarkdown — or at least Markdown — format ? This would be great.
If OmniOutliner 4 wouldn’t support Markdown in some way, I wouldn’t say it would be a reason for me to drop OmniOutliner completely, but it would definitely be a regrettable, most unfortunate point against OO, especially now that Markdown is gaining momentum — see the increasing number of editors supporting it, both on MacOS and iOS.

I don't appear to have a copy of that exporter anymore and it doesn't appear to be on Fletcher Penney's site now. But, there's no obvious reason why it wouldn't work anymore. Make sure you're putting the whole folder with the .ooxsl extension into ~/Library/Application Support/The Omni Group/OmniOutliner/Plug-Ins/ (Assuming you're on the latest version, 3.10.3. If you're not, please update.)

If it's still not working, let me know and we'll look into other possible issues.

Dear DerekM,

I didn’t realize the folder was supposed to have the “.ooxsl” extension. The freshly downloaded one had a number appended to it (probably a version number). Once I removed this number and left the extension alone, everything started to work fine again.

So, you tipped me and it solved the issue! Thank you very much indeed.

By the way, Fletcher Penney’s plug-in is to be found here.

Kind regards.

PS: the question about OmniOutliner 4 support of MultiMarkdown stands. Do you have any information?

The initial 4.0 release won't have any support beyond plug-ins.
