Converting image or shape into a line?
 

Good Afternoon all,

I'm trying to find everywhere the a tutorial or explanation on how to convert an image or shape into a line. I guess I'm not trying to convert it, but what I want is to have the pivotal behavior of a line. I want to be able to:

-Move one end to an object with magnets an connected.
-Pivot and move each end freely.
