Cannot browse certain websites

I am having problem of viewing some websites, for example, the website of mathematics department in Ecole Normale Superieure. The browser just appears as blank page!

Same thing happened at
http://www.bestbuy.com/
http://www.officemax.com/

I have no problem of viewing the website using safari or firefox. Is there some problems with the website, or omniweb, or my browser setting?

Thanks,

I had no problem viewing the links you posted. Maybe there was a server/IPS problem when you tried them.

The work fine here as well. Did you check your error log?

Where can I check the error log?
My omniweb browser is still blank(attached here), where the sidebar says "loading..." for ever, and click on the network activity says idle.

Oh... I figured out the problem.
It turns out that my language setting is Simplified Chinese(MacOS), and this causes the problem. Resetting this to Western(Windows Latin 1), or even as Chinese(GBK) solves the problem. I guess it is the problem of MacOS Chinese.

Strange though.

Hey, that's just what I came to the forums to try and figure out! I had my default set to Japanese (Shift JIS) and I was getting a large number (20%?) of pages that just sat there loading a blank page forever. Setting it to Unicode (UTF-8) seems to have things working. As I recall this behavior showed up along with Omniweb 5? I think? Or 5.5? Certainly not v4.

FWIW the Best Buy link above worked for me, but the other two showed the blank symptom.

FWIW #2, I most recently ran into this problem with this page:

Thanks for the troubleshooting!

Hmm ... why have Simplified Chinese (MacOS) set as your default language, given that until recently, Macs were virtually unheard of here in China? And what is worse, the vast majority of people don't even know there are alternative browsers to IE and so many web-pages in Simplified Chinese are written for IE with all that that means! I'd go with PresNevins and set UTF-8 as your default ... :) Probably save you a lot of problems.
