No second chance after a bad password

I visited a site protected by basic authentication. OmniWeb prompted for a username and password. I must have mistyped the password because the site reports ...
Authorization Required

This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required.
Neither reloading the page nor reentering the URL gives me a second chance to enter a valid username and password.

Delete the newly added entry in Keychain Access that applies to that site and/or the cookies for it.

... which will work, of course, but still, it would be nice if OW could present a dialog where I could change the stuff I typed before and save an edited keychain entry if authorisation fails.

This isn't possible for sites like this forum, of course, as OW can't tell whether the login has worked or not. With basic HTTP authorisation, though, the browser gets a back an HTTP header that tells it that the provided login data wasn't correct.

I certainly agree. I've used browsers that gave me several/unlimited attempts to succeed with basic authentication. "Browsers" very likely includes previous releases of OmniWeb, which has been my default browser since 2001.

No chance at all with an bad/obsolete Keychain entry

I've found a new wrinkle with the "no second chance" problem:

If I visit a page protected with basic auth, OmniWeb retrieves a username + password from my keychain, and the authentication fails, OmniWeb goes straight to the "Authentication Required" error page.
