I'm not familiar with the issue, but if Google Drive doesn't correctly handle some types of files that sounds like a question only Google can answer.

upload corrupted?

Using 5.4.4 I created a graffle thats a few hundred k in size. I upload to Drive (telling Google not to convert). The file appears but the size is only around 100 bytes. Other users can download this file but cannot open in OmniGraffle due to a "unexpected character" error. Seems like a Google Drive problem to me but just FYI
