Clip-o-Tron links open Sparrow, stop working after uninstalling it. [A: Sparrow bug; see thread.]
 

On my mac, when I create an item via clip-o-tron, it works great, includes a link and the email in the note of the task.

However, when I click on that link on the same mac it doesn't do anything. Previously, it tried to open Sparrow, which I wasn't using, so I uninstalled Sparrow and now it just doesn't do anything. Any way to get mail to open those again?

Once Sparrow sets itself to be the default mail application, it can sometimes continue to hang onto those links even once you change that system preference to point at another app.

In the past when customers have run into this, re-installing Sparrow, setting it as the default, and then using Sparrow to set Mail to be the default app has usually gotten things un-stuck.

It's not a bug. Sparrow is just greedy about the handlers it takes ownership of and most other email clients are less greedy.

Use RCDefaultApp to change the url scheme/mime types and URIs from Sparrow to another email client.
