Feature Request: Import function
 

Hi,

at the moment I am using iGTD (also a nice program so far). I do need to have the possibility to import from iGTD to OmniFocus in case of a program change.

Considering how many folks are now using iGTD, it would be a good idea to consider some form of importing.

iGTD now has hierarchical contexts as well as projects, so a migration path to OF should not be hampered by a lack of features in OF.

We don't have plans to write an importer right now, but we expect savy users will write their own using AppleScript. Currently we only import from kGTD. Syncing tasks in both programs through iCal is also a possibility.

iGTD 1.4 will export a .csv or HTML file- does, will OF import either file format? What about getting one of the file formats into OO and then into OF?

Right now, OmniFocus will not import either of those formats. We have an Applescript which imports Kinkless documents and we will probably offer an applescript to import regular OmniOutliner documents at some point. Going through OmniOutliner might be a solution in the future, but no promises :-)
