Editable points
Hi,
I've attempted to create my very first stencil. Everything seems to work fine, except if I try to use objects from the stencil their points are fully editable. Is there a way to stop this? I'm a OmniGraffle noob so please be gentle with me :) Cheers, Rich. |
You should be able to select the shape, and then in the Edit Menu -> Shapes submenu, choose "Make custom shape" and that should remove any editable points.
Hope that helps, |
Hope I'm not being completely stupid here but I don't have a Shapes submenu under Edit. I created the shapes using the Pen Tool if that matters.
I am using v5.2 of Omnigraffle. Cheers, Rich. |
The Edit->Shapes submenu is unfortunately a OmniGraffle Pro-only feature.
Joel, I don't see any mention of the "Make custom shape" command in the OmniGraffle Help or PDF manual, did I miss it? |
Ah I see. So this feature is only available from the pro version?
|
Ah yes, sorry for any confusion -- It is a Pro-only feature, having to do with the Shape Combinations or boolean operations.
As for being mentioned in the Help, there's a section covering Subtract/Union/Intersect, but no mention of making points editable or vice-versa, so I'll file a bug on this. |
Is this really a 'pro' feature? Although the software is usable without it, it's very annoying to move a point instead of moving the entire object. I don't really have much use for the other pro features so forking out another $100 seems a bit steep...
