Groups & Next Action Perspective

Greetings all,

First time poster here and my apologies if this is covered elsewhere in the forum, but I couldn't find the right search string.

I have several projects and one which 4 serial tasked groups. When I click on the 'Next Due' perspective, I only see 1 tasked listed associated with my project even if I have multiple tasks due. I like using groups as sub-projects because of the ability to set parallel vs. serial tasks. So, the question is, is the 'Next Due' perspective only associating one task per project in that view?

Regards,
Michael

Welcome to the forums, Michael! Yes, OmniFocus currently only designates one action per project as "Next". I believe we have a feature request open on multiple next actions per project - if you email our support ninjas, they can add you to that request.

(Items with more customer interest tend to get assigned higher priority.)

Due dates have nothing to do with next actions. There is only one next action per project (*), and it is the uppermost action (when viewed in Project mode) which is available. That may not be the action with the closest due date...

(*) Single Action Lists show all of their available actions as next actions. You can have action groups in a Single Action List, so if you want to see a next action for each concurrent action group in your project, converting the project to SAL would accomodate that.
