Sync with Omni - is it safe?
I am currently syncing with another service, but I feel it's better to keep everything in one place. Hence I think about move my stuff to Omni Sync.
Is it safe to sync with Omni? Is the data encrypted? Is it free? Good/Bad opinions? Tia, /andreas |
Is it safe?
I don't mean to be difficult, but safe from what? Is the data encrypted? Yes, it is encrypted in transit. No, it is not encrypted on our servers. More detail here: http://forums.omnigroup.com/showpost.php?p=91050&postcount=2 Is it free? Yes. As an Omni employee, I suspect my opinions will not be as valuable as other forum members, but will note that I sync my own OmniFocus database via Omni Sync Server. |
Thanks for the answer!
Safe like in "I have stored some of my passwords in OF, can I sync with Omni and be sure that they don't leak or is used in some way"? I guess not, since they're not stored encrypted. Maybe you should setup a solution where the client can pay a small fee every month for encrypted storage? - And the free service would be unencrypted as now. Just an idea. Regards, Andreas |
