Dragon Dictation & OmniFocus
Is anyone using Dragon Dictation for the Mac (not Dragon Dictation for the iPhone) with OF?
I've recently ordered Dragon Dictation for the Mac, and I am anxious to try it out. One application for it that I think would be really productive would be adding and modifying OF projects, groups, actions, etc. by voice. I expect DD will arrive next week, so I thought I'd ask here now if anyone is using it. |
I use it for emails.
It's fun to say "send email" and it working! I bet you could customise it Interesting!!! |
I received it yesterday, but only had a few minutes to train it and try it out on a short note. It recognizes my voice really very well, so if I could get it to work with OF, that would be great.

Very cool. This would be a great feature for OF mobile (iPad and iPhone). |
We do have a feature request open on this - interested parties should email the support ninjas and let them know that they'd like to see this added. (It also helps to let us know which editions of the app you'd like to see this in - Mac, iPhone, or iPad.)
Thanks for the help! |
GOT IT!......almost
I just bought Dictate last night and haven't got it trained yet, but Try this.
Under the Dragon Dictate Menus select Tools > Commands. Create a new user-defined commend. For example. Command Name: New Task Command Description: Context: Dragon Dictate Type: Keystroke (I entered the keystroke for my Omnifocus quick entry ^⌘space) Start your mic up and say "New Task". It now opens the quick entry dialog. Now I just have to train it so it'll enter the rest! :) |
Ok. Got it working now. :)
Set up a user defined command as I listed above. In my case I speak "New Task" and the Omnifocus quick entry opens up. I speak what my new task is then say "Press Save". TaDa! A new Omnifocus task without ever touching the keyboard or mouse. |
