Set up journal file

How do I set up a journal file? I would like to be able to set up a journal for daily entries in OF. How do I set OF up and not have to work in outline form?

OF does not support journaling. Perhaps others who keep journals can suggest how they are integrating separate journaling applications with OF in their systems?
