Attaching Outliner docs to email
I have problems every time I want to attach and Outliner doc to an email. Has anyone experienced the same problem? I can convert it to pdf or rtf and it works fine, but I want to send a document to my partner for editing and I have had issues. Any way I can deal with this?

Total freedom-
Try zipping the file first, control-click on it and select the 'Create archive of "file"' option. Then attach that .zip file. The problem is because OO files are file wrappers which aren't always handled correctly outside of OSX. -- Derek M. Support Ninja The Omni Group |
Ok, thanks...
I didn't know that. I'll zip 'em from now on.

That's funny, it works automatically with Keynote files. Is there something Omnigroupcan do to make this automatic with o-o?

Gumby-
What mail client are you using? Mail will handle file wrappers fine but it does so my automatically zipping and unzipping it for you. If you try attaching a file wrapper in Gmail, it won't even let you, it shows up as a directory instead. There's nothing unique about OO files from other file wrappers. -- Derek M. Still having the same problem
Zipping it up does work, but that's silly. Why are files saved in such a way that they cannot be emailed on gmail? It also cannot be uploaded to dropbox via the web interface. Very inconvenient. It's certainly not communicated anywhere that this is the case. This is still the case years after this posting.

I consider it a bug in gmail/safari, not a bug in O-O.
