How to use spotlight with completed projects?
When I complete a project, I cannot use spotlight to find it again. I believe that the reason is that the metadata file in
~/Library/Caches/Metadata/com.omnigroup.OmniFocus is removed when the project is marked complete. Is there any way to stop that from happening? I would expect that the metadata file would be removed when the item is archived, but not when it is marked complete. |
I would consider this a bug. I agree with you that if you can find it with OF, you should be able to find it with Spotlight. Meaning: as long as it hasn't been archived, it should be searchable.
Even if 'as designed' is the answer, I'd ask the OF team to reconsider this and fix. My $0.02 worth, Brad PS I should clarify what I mean by "findable with OF" to mean by choosing the correct view settings. I realize that 'seaching' using OF's search box returns the same results as Spotlight (presumably for the same reason). |

Why should archiving the project make it disappear from Spotlight? I don't understand why one would want to see completed projects but not archived... |
