Synching to iCal questions

Hi,
New user here, and I was wondering if it is possible to synch due dates to iCal not as to dos, but as actual calendar entries. Is this possible?

Right now, it is not done by the application. However, it is possible to write an Applescript that will take an action and make a calendar event (not a to do) from it.

Does anyone have such a script that they are using successfully and would like to share?
