Omniweb as a default browser for Apple

Why Omniweb isn't the default browser for Apple?
Safari is very good but I still do not understand? Can somebody explain the history?

Home page as soon as switched on

How to reload directly onto a selected home page when I switch on the computer? I tried to find out but cannot find:(
I've been using Opera for years & this browser can do it:)
