Making date column appear in quick entry and default view

I want "due date" to be a column available in the initial default view, and in the quick entry view. I can use the "view" menu to set it once, but next time I open OmniGraffle it is gone again. ...

Bug? 12/12 + 1w should not be 12/8

Maybe this is because I'm changing a due date rather than setting it initially, or maybe something else ... but when I type "1w" or "+1w" in the due date column, I'm getting 12/8/2007, which is 4...

What I would really, really like is computer-to-computer synchronization (the one feature that has me still using Now Up to Date after all these years, despite its bugginess and general decrepitude)...
