That is what I had to do. Reinstall the Mac OS. In the end it cleared up some other problems as well. So it will not be a complete waste of time.

So it appears that Security Update 2007-009 causes problems with OF, your Permissions get so screwed up that an Archive and Restore is the only cure.

How does one proceed with future Security...
