Colors Panel documentation and help?

There does not appear to be any documentation on the Colors Panel (see attached)
This is a fairly complex widget with several different ways of specifying color, opacity, etc and an odd little set...

Adding Midpoints to orthogonal line segment

Ok, newbie but i looked thru pdf manual, help, tutorials, menus etc.

When I create an orthogonal line segment, I can make multiple segments by clicking and then double click to end the segment....
