Perhaps we have different ideas about who the cool kids are.
Omni is on record as saying there will be a metadata column added to a future 1.x version (in other words, a free upgrade) which you will be able to use for tagging if that floats your boat. Personally, I don't find that tagging systems tend to save me enough time to offset the cost of having to tag everything.
