Despite the name, it is possible to add action groups (or sub-actions or sub-projects as some call them) to a single-action list. If you have a task for the country house that requires more than one action, enter the task in your list as usual, but then indent the next line and add the broken-down steps to achieve the goal. You can use the inspector to make the resulting action group be parallel or sequential in execution, as appropriate.

Rather than have a list of things to take with you, which isn't really a list of actions, you might structure it as a list of things to do to prepare for a trip to the other house. Work the list to 0 before leaving, or at least the parts of it that can be done before getting there. In this case, you are using the SAL as a container for a list of projects or tasks to be done at the other house which require prior preparation here, or en route.
