We try to build our apps as sturdy as possible, but sometimes something goes wrong.

If OmniFocus for iPhone crashes, we'd really like to know about it. And you want us to know about it, so that we can fix it, so that OmniFocus works for you again.

Here's how to give us the details we need.

1) Take a deep breath. Your data is (almost certainly) not lost. Maybe that last action you were typing has vanished, but it's very rare that you'll lose more than that.

2) When you get a chance, sync your device with iTunes. This copies crash logs over to your computer.

3) Find the crash log directory on your computer.

- On a Mac, browse to <your home folder>/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/<DEVICE_NAME>
[If you're on 10.7, your Library is probably invisible. In the Finder, hold down Option, then click the Go menu, then select Library.]

- On Windows XP, go to C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Application Data\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter/<DEVICE_NAME>

- On Windows Vista, go to C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter/MobileDevice/<DEVICE_NAME>

4) Look for files that have either "OmniFocus" or "LowMemory" in the name.

5) Attach those file to an email to omnifocus@omnigroup.com. For bonus points, pick an informative subject line like "iPhone crashes in OmniFocus 1.13.3"

6) Add any info you can think of about what you were doing right before the crash happened. Also, if you recently made a change to your system like updating to iOS 5.1 or switched to Omni Sync Server.

7) Send off the email, and give yourself a pat on the back for helping rid the world of crashes.
