A bit of follow-up work has revealed the following.
(1) Rebuilding the OF database (File > Rebuild Database...) rids me of the errors, I think, but
(2) it also deletes some projects and actions that I'd imported form OmniPlan using the OP->OO->OF pathway
So perhaps my original question now reduces to one about that pathway?
