It sounds like command-W (close window) got hit a couple of times, but if command-N doesn't bring up a new window, you'll want to do the following:
- Quit OmniFocus
- Open up <your home folder>/Library/Preferences/ in the finder.
- Move the file named "com.omnigroup.omnifocus.plist" to the trash
- restart OmniFocus
