I know I can open files from iCal whenever I want. But I'm intrigued by what you just wrote.

Re: the OP's question, I am digging that method of using a single reminder with a link (or links) to lists, checklists, etc. Very efficient in the database, and it doesn't feel overwhelming at all.

My Routine Maintenance tasks perspective really looks more like a control panel than a task window, LOL!
