I am currently using OmniGraffle to diagram various aspects of a large setup and would like to enter the files in to version control to keep track of changes and to have backups of these files in the event of a problem with my Mac. Naturally, the version control and the file repository are Windows-based.

When I attempt to put .graffle files on a windows machine (even just placing it on a flash drive and looking at in Windows explorer), the .graffle file shows up as a folder. Within that folder are all of the pictures and various data that (I presume) OmniGraffle uses to create the diagrams. In essence, Windows sees a .graffle file as a folder with a lot of data inside. Placing this in version control would not work well at all, since is no longer a single file.

Does anyone have any advice (other than the obvious "Steer clear of Windows") on keeping the .graffle file intact? Zipping it might work, but it seems a bit inelegant.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!!
