There is a hidden preference, accessible via a bookmarklet, that turns visibility on and off:

omnifocus:///change-setting?ContextM...sParents=false

Replace false with true in the bookmarklet to turn visibility back on.

Be warned, however, that now if an action group in a sequential project is forgotten and left incomplete after all the children of the action are completed, the project will stall. So, visibility in 1.8 is more important than it was in 1.7.

And that's why we would like it to be well done! ;-)
