I was not able to see your screenshot. I have about 5 feeds with 20-30 items in them. Not as much as you so that may be the problem. I am also using Jon Hicks' gReader.css stylesheet which gives you a little more clean design. He does great work.
I am not sure if you have a OmniWeb or Google problem. Does Safari work OK or a (shudder) Windows browser?
