Maybe both goals can be achieved, somewhat. I killed my hierarchy recently, so I have an amazingly simple/flat list of projects compared to before. But, to make that effective, I also rely heavily on the hiding of on-hold and pending projects — otherwise it would be waaaaay too long a list! ;-)
