It would be great to be able to specify custom variables, or create instances of objects within OmniGraffle (maybe just the pro version?)

Let me explain what I have in mind. If you think it is a good idea, then this could be suggested directly to the developers.

(Variable) :
To be able to specify custom text variables. Allowing users to insert information such as the document name or something which may change in the future, and then easily replace every instance of that text. (perhaps this feature already exists - perhpas you could share how to accomplish this task). The advantage over a find and replace is that the text may be common or used in another location. This allows you to identify the particular instances of the text to which changes should be applied.

(Instance) :
Basically expanding on the idea of the custom variable. However, rather than just dealing with text, you could create instances of objects or groups. Then when you change one of the instances the others would also change.

Just an idea.
What do you think? Will this add unnecessary complexity?
If it was implemented well, it could be a useful feature.
Perhaps the developers have some ideas about weather this is a good suggestion or weather it would not make sense.

Comments welcome.
