I go back and forth on the matter of having my "waiting" contexts on hold. I've typically got more than a few things waiting, however, so it appears to me that your scheme would generate quite a bit of "make-work" for me -- fiddling with dates isn't getting things done, after all. Well, I guess it is if you've got projects that direct you to fiddle with dates :-)

I make no claim that my way is the best way to do it, only that it works for me right now. One of the things I enjoy so much about the forums is hearing about others' work practices, because there's often something useful to be learned even if one doesn't attempt to adopt someone else's workflow lock, stock, and barrel.
