In the meanwhile, if you want to resize the editing window within Lion full screen mode, the Keyboard Maestro macros which I use to control window size and position from the keyboard are here.

I personally prefer to edit either in the central 1/3 of the screen, with the dark linen background to left and right, on in the right hand 2/3, with dark space for inspectors to the left.
