I love Evernote--it's a great way to store scraps of information, or PDFs and other files and have them pretty easily show up everywhere.

Know what it's not good at? Taking notes. Trying to format text and keep it looking decent in Evernote is like trying to nail jello to a tree--it's barely worth trying. Enter great programs like OO who can at least export to a variety of formats so that you can at least read your data on the go. Have an idea on the go? You can at least sort of get it down via Evernote, whether by typing something in plain text, taking a picture of something you write on a cocktail napkin, or taking a voice memo.
