I know this is an old thread, but as I am relying heavily on start dates rather due dates, knowing what's available each day, as described above, in the forecast view would be exceedingly valuable.

Today, start dates are shown in the forecast mode, but after that 'start' day, the task doesn't show the following days even if it's left undone.

When using perspectives, I have one with 'available tasks', these are the ones that have started but not yet completed. That's what I would love in the forecast view, in addition to start dates and due dates.
