In my understanding, DA separates quite clearly calendar from task list, including for "all-day" events (i.e. actions that need to be accomplished on a certain day, IMO equivalent to what some people think of as "Today List").
I'm definitely in favour of minimizing any iCal further interaction, and I'm almost at the point of not wanting due dates in OmniFocus! ;-)
