Command-scroll works for me in OG5 with a might mouse; have you changed any OS level mouse settings / 3rd party software?

You can re-map shortcuts for "Zoom In" and "Zoom Out".

System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Application Shortcuts. Remember that case sensitivity matters and you can create a shortcut for anything you can find in a menu.

Z works too!
