I can see from the OmniGraphSketcher gallery of example images that it is possible to rotate text, image here:

You can see the trendlines are labelled in this example, which is precisely what I need to do e.g. text "$65K Annual Pension Goal = 5358 Hours".

However for the life of me I can't find how to rotate text, can anybody help please?

Just make a bit of text with the Text tool, then drag it onto your trend line and it will snap into place.
