Importing Mind Map into OF ? Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
I'm currently using Mindnode Pro and Freemind. And was wondering if there was a way to export an file from MMP software to OF ?

OK - I'm using FreePlane not Freemind, so YMMV, and this is a little circuitous and requires OmniOutliner but:

Export your mind map as XSLT and specify OPML as the format.

Open the OPML file in OmniOutliner, open to full depth and copy the root.

In OmniFocus create a new project, a new empty task and select the row handle and paste.

Voila.

I did try pasting a branch directly from FP into OO but it didn't create nested tasks, but rather created a flat list with depth represented by leading spaces.

interesting...
too bad OF can't import a HTML,RTF, or OPML directly into a new project...
Could this be a feature request ?

I can see a case for OPML import, it's a well documented format that's frequently used for outline docs, and Omni already has support for it elsewhere. The others could be more tricky to do well.

Update:
Just tried this on my Mac. Worked fine w/ MindNode Pro.

I there any way to do this just on a iPhone or iPad ?
