Sometimes, you need to wait before you can do anything else. For instance, when you pour concrete, you need to let it cure before you can do anything to it. When you have a surgery, you may have to wait awhile before you go running again. After you order something, you have to wait until you can perform dependencies which depend on having the something.

In the meantime, though, you may be doing other things.

The suggested work-around for this is to create a resource, call in "Time" or "No one" or whatever, set it to 24/7, and let it work.

The problem is if you have more than one thing waiting, "Time" will stack up tasks end-to-end, just the way tasks stack up with resources who are people.

Yes, you can create a new resource each time, but then you have to manually make sure that none of them will conflict. Creating a new one each time results in a profusion of them.

It seems to me that this is a legitimate special case. There should be an option to let a given resource overlap, or be designated as wait-time, or something similar.

Or am I missing another option?

Thanks!
