Whenever I try and add an item, whether it be a child, aunt or otherwise, my entire page rearranges and I have to reorganize everything. Help!

The decision to set:

Inspectors → Diagram Layout → Automatic Layout

as the default behaviour has probably cost the world economy more professional hours than it has saved :-)

PS you are not alone in finding that your work has been "automatically" undone. A post in 2008, entitled OG 5 Stop the moving! was far from being the last.

Something to think about for OG6 ?

Since 2008 the calls for help, and the reports of careful work that is suddenly disassembled, has only got longer, suggesting an appreciable amount of wasted time, reported and unreported, even for those eventually who did eventually find their way to the Automatic Layout inspector.

Practically, I would suggest that:

1. All OG6 supplied templates have Automatic Layout switched off by default.
2. A simple, prominent, and deletable text box explains the possibility of switching it on, in templates where it might be useful.
