Radius a single corner of a shape? Thread Tools Search this Thread Display Modes
Can anyone tell if there is a way to do the above? And, is there also a way to radius 2 different corners of the same shape with 2 different radii? Primarily concerned with doing these operations to rectangles. Thx in advance

I don't think it's possible to do that directly, but what you can do is make a new bezier object with the corners rounded as you want them, and then you can apply this shape to any other existing rectangles in the same document (different canvas works). They show up with blue borders in the list with the other pre-defined shapes.

Drawing these bezier objects is easiest with snap to grid enabled, and the grid visible. Just click on the corners in order to create straight lines. For corners that should be rounded, click a few grid points short of the corner, then drag to the actual corner. Then do the same on the adjacent side of the rectangle so it's symmetrical (that way the corner will scale properly). You can always adjust the curve later but it'll only affect the shape you're editing, so if you have to adjust it you'll have to re-apply it to all affected boxes.

An easy way to do this is by using Edit>Shapes>Union Shapes. Make a rounded rectangle with the desired corner radius. Cover the corners you want to remain square with smaller rectangles whose edges are aligned with first one. (Smart alignment guides are a great help here.) Select all the shapes and create the union. To get corners with different radii, give the background rectangle the larger radius and the covering ones the smaller. A similar process works for other shapes, but it's slightly more complicated. If the shape is not a regular polygon, make the corner-covering shapes by duplicating the original and shrinking the copy in order to keep the corner angles the same.
