Ansel had it right. My paraphrase for Omni software on iOS devices is to use the biggest screen I can carry. For the last month or so, i've been using the iPod/iPhone and iPad apps almost exclusively. Like Geoff, I find the iPad to be quite a good mobile solution for OmniFocus; I have largely stopped carrying my MacBook, which was once a constant companion. For me, also having the other Omni apps available, even in their lightweight iPad versions, gives the iPad enough of a wallop that I don't take out the iPod except to sync it and hand it to someone to run errands. Now I agree that it would be different with an iPhone instead of an iPod because I would still carry the iPhone to make calls, but the ease of working on the iPad with a substantial project list is a big plus in my book. If you have an iPad already, buy the iPad app!

I used to live in a windows/android world. . . . Then I got an iPad. One of the first apps I bought was omnifocus. It was awesome! Granted I felt a bit constrained because capture was a little klunky. I didn't always have the iPad on me. I loved iOS so much I got an iPhone. Now capture is really simple and I always have my lists and forecast handy. I eventually got a Mac and the desktop version of omnifocus but honestly I rarely use it. I never had custom perspectives so I don't know what I'm missing. I'll have to check them out. Bottom line is you can live well in an iPad only omniuniverse. But iPad and iPhone is better. The Mac version is super powerful, but my Mac is at home and my office is still a pc so I ink this is why I find it marginal.
