Hi all
Am about to make the move to OmniFocus and would be interested to check the planned process with others.
Have been using a GTD app for a year or so that syncs to iCal with To Dos in the following form
Write Brochure completion Check List [T108 Marketing]
where Contexts are their own Calender such @Work Office and [...] is the Project Name.
I noticed with the trial of OF that it also uses [] for Projects.
So the plan is
1. Create contexts in OF that match the Calenders in iCal
2. Create projects in OF that match those existing in iCal in the []
3. Sync to ical and hope it brings all the To Dos over.
In the evaluation period I noticed it didn't immediately sort OF Actions to projects but a discussion with an Omni Tech Ninja suggests that a Step 4. Clean Up will move all to where they belong rather than dragging and dropping.
Questions.
Have others followed this approach and what are the pitfalls ?
Is there a simpler way than re-inputting all the projects I've accumulated ?
Is there a particular config needed to bring the Status (Completedd or not) and the Completed To Dos over as well ?
Kind Regards
Eric
