When editing an item, does anyone know how to advance to the next/previous column with a keyboard shortcut? <Tab> indents the item; and the only other way I can see to get to the next column is <Escape> and mouse click in the next column.

If you don't use tab to indent rows, you can change it's behavior to move cells. Go to OmniOutliner menu -> Preferences -> Keyboard tab to change this.
